Forum FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)
Updated April 15, 2008

The following is a list of answers to questions and topics that all relate to the ShowBizPizza.com Forum (Message Board). Of course, not every question is included here. If there's a question you have regarding the Forum that's not answered below, please feel free to contact a member of our Staff for help.

Who is allowed to join the Forum? Are there any restrictions?

The only restriction is that you're at least 15 years of age. This is a security measure to help protect younger children. Think of it as "SP.com Kid Check". Our community members under 15 are still welcome to enjoy the rest of the website, and even to read our Forum threads (which are readable to any guest). However, to keep things as safe as possible, we must restrict the registration of any member under 15 years of age.

Anyone 15 and over may sign up, and we require that you provide us (vBulletin) with a valid e-mail address. Because our Forum is based around a children's topic, we must do what we can to insure all potential members are unique people at signup. This is to insure a peaceful and hopefully safe online community for our members

How do I register?

Becoming a registered member is fairly simple, and to help you out, we've written out these easy steps to joining that can be found on the Forum Registration page.

Am I allowed to sell stuff through the Forum?

Yes, we have a special forum section for the sale of items from one collector to another. This also doubles as a section for trading, or for members to post their want lists. However, since this section is set up for private dealing, please use caution when making deals with a stranger. Most of our members are honest people who are in good standing within the community, however SP.com holds no responsibility for transactions that take place via the 'For Sale' Forum. If you're unsure about purchasing from a member, you can ask a member of our staff for advice, or just play it safe and go through a tightly screened and secure channel such as eBay.com.

Why is my posted item not showing up on the For Sale Forum?

This is because we must manually approve all posts made in the For Sale Forum to insure that they meet the guidelines that are stated in our Code of Conduct. We need to make sure that all items posted are not bootlegs or infringments of intellectual property. If your item is legit, please allow at least 24 hours before the post becomes viewable by the public.

My post was deleted/moved/edited/etc. Why did this happen?

Our board is maintained by a group of admininstrators and moderators to insure that everything posted adheres to our Code of Conduct. If your post was deleted it was most likely in violation of one of those rules. Keep it clean, keep it in good taste, and keep it on topic.

Our forum admin team is also responsible to keep things organized and searchable. Sometimes a post will be moved or combined with another thread of a similar topic. This doesn't mean your post was in violation of anything - only that the mods were trying to put your post where it makes better sense to everyone else viewing the forum.

Why are your conduct rules so restrictive?

Here on SP.com we try to run a tight ship when it comes to Forum posting. This website is based on a children's theme, so naturally we have people of all ages who view this site - which includes posts on the Forum made by our members. We simply cannot have, and do not want, children being exposed to obscene material on a site with such an honest mission and theme. It's counter-productive to why this website even exists. Although SP.com is designed for older fans to get in touch with their inner-child, us older fans need to remember that we're only one part of a community that includes actual children - not just children at heart.

How do I customize the appearance of my posts - avatars, signatures, info, etc?

For more information on how to customize your profile, posts, and lots of other vBulletin functions, please check out the vBulletin FAQ for an indepth explanation on how many of these features work!
