Navigating the University

First time visiting? With the hundreds of assorted documents, finding what you're looking for might a little confusing at first but here the breakdown. All pages can be found using the navigational links at the top of every page.

Documents

The Documents category contains all of the company documents in our library. Much of what you'll find in here are internal papers - things such as corporate memos, guidebooks, employee resources, manuals, newsletters, annual reports, etc. Many of these particular documents were designed for intra-company use or to be used for store operation. In other words, not designed for public consumption.

These company documents are an incredible resource for fans wanting to learn more about how these intertwined companies evolved over the years. As such, this section is broken down by the company to which they belong, rather than a particular restaurant. Pizza Time Theatre, Inc. company documents range from 1978-1984, ShowBiz Pizza Place, Inc. company documents range from 1980-1984, ShowBiz Pizza Time, Inc. company documents range from 1985-1998, and Chuck E. Cheese Entertainment, Inc. company documents range from 1998-today. Also included here are a few company documents from Creative Engineering, Inc. because of their connection to ShowBiz.

Promotional

The Promotional category contains all of the promotional documents in our library. The types of materials you'll find here are items that were produced specifically for public distribution - flyers, pamphlets, menus, merchandise, contests, advertisements, etc.

A great deal of information can be ascertained from these documents as well. Just like our selection of company documents, the Promotional section is also broken down by the company to which they belong, rather than a particular restaurant. Pizza Time Theatre, Inc. promotional documents range from 1978-1984, ShowBiz Pizza Place, Inc. promotional documents range from 1980-1984, ShowBiz Pizza Time, Inc. promotional documents range from 1985-1998, and Chuck E. Cheese Entertainment, Inc. promotional documents range from 1998-today. Also included here is a wide assortment of promotional brochures from Creative Engineering, Inc.

Articles

The Articles category contains a collection of outside media articles - newspaper and magazine articles that were written about the restaurants and companies behind them.

Since these articles were written by the different media outlets (and not produced by any particular company) they're broken down in this section according to restaurant type. The Chuck E. Cheese's page includes articles written about Chuck E. Cheese's restaurants, going all the way back to the early days of Pizza Time Theatre to today. The ShowBiz Pizza Place page focuses on articles written specifically about ShowBiz. And finally the CEC / ShowBiz / Misc page features articles that happen to cover both concepts, as well as other miscellaneous writings.

Related Concepts

Finally, the Related Concepts category contains documentation pertaining to restaurants that fall outside of the usual company umbrellas, yet still related enough to warrant inclusion in the University. The International page features documents from stores that existed outside of the United States. The Looney Bird's page features company and promotional documents from the Looney Bird's concept that existed in the late 1990s and early 2000s. The Billy Bob's Wonderland page features an assortment of documents from the last remaining public restaurant to showcase the Rock-afire Explosion. And the Misc. Concepts page features documents from similar concepts featuring animatronic entertainment such as Bullwinkle's Family Food 'n Fun.
