ISSUE #45 - June/July, 2004
Back to ShowBiz Pizza.com Homepage

Hello and welcome back to Billy Bob's Bulletin! There's less than a week until the start of Rock-a-Palooza so mark your calendars. For those keeping track, it all goes down on Sunday July 25th and will remain posted until July 31st. After that it's all removed until next year. There will be lots to do, listen to, and download so be ready because after Rock-a-Palooza some of it may never be posted again!

Hopefully everyone's summer has been going as good as mine has. Last June I was able to visit California and Las Vegas which was a nice little excursion from home. Since then however I've spent most of the summer couped-up in my hot little room full of ShowBiz and CEC junk, going though stuff and updating for our 2 summer events. Which reminds me, besides RAP there's CheeseVention going down on August 20th. The deadline to register is August 6th so if you want to mark your place and insure you get your free CV Swag, send us an e-mail. Even if you get wind of this event late and miss the August deadline we encourage you to show up anyway. The registration is mainly a way to make sure that we have enough to go around, but don't let the bag of goodies be your only reason for coming. There'll be lots and lots of stuff to do and see, plus you'll have the oppertunity to meet up with people who share your same obsessions and hobbies. All of the up to date information and news regarding CV can be found here.

Collectable Of The Month
Pizza Time Theatre Prototype Figure

cec
  • This prototype figure of CEC appeared recently - apparently it was made in 1983 but never put into production.

Shifting gears back to RAP, things have been shaping up nicely since I last posted info in the last bullletin. I've managed to sort out and get together everything that I've had planned and with any luck I'll even get some bonus stuff posted for the event. There will be a slew of interesting stuff to download - most of which will be exclusive to RAP 2004 so it's highly encouraged that you save stuff to your computer as it won't be availible after the end of the month. We've obtained a beautiful assortment of Rock-afire promotional photos which will be avaiable for download in high-quality 8 X 10" images, as well as some smaller rarely seen photos.

We're bringing back the Rock-afire fan art pages, as well as a special feature on the artwork of Dave Thomas who as we all know was Creative Engineering's artist from the early days through the end of ShowBiz. Much of this uncovered artwork hasn't been seen in over 20 years. We're also going to have some interesting company documents from the ShowBiz era detailing the very begining up to the CU conversions that ended ShowBiz forever. Some other documents that will be posted include the very first issue of Billy Bob's Bulletin (not what you're reading right now, but the original newsletter that I ripped-off)!

Some other highlights include a major update to Jasper's Showtape Review. Many ShowBiz showtapes have been catalogued and reviewed for the first time and during RAP you'll be able to browse though many showtapes you've probably never even heard of and hopefully learn some new stuff. Our "You Don't Know Fatz" quiz is back for another round of fan humiliation and this time there's a brand new bonus quiz that offers a special prize for those who can successfully complete it. The "Adventures of Billy Bob" will make it's third disturbing round on the net, as will "The Rock-afire Enquirer" and other gags of days gone by. Should make a good read for those who missed them in the past, and for those who've seen them all before there'll be Vol. 2 of the Enquirer to satisfy your hunger for toilet humor.

ShowBiz Promo Picture

ShowBiz
  • This was taken from an early SPP brochure and has a pic of Billy Bob's barn and kiddie ride.

However, our new contest involves finding tickets hidden throughout the RAP portion of the site which means all those old pages are fair game for ticket hunting so you might want to check them out again. These tickets are all coded with an 8-digit code that you'll need to write down everytime you find one so you can redeem them at the end of RAP for a free Vinyl CD-R. Just what CD-R is available? I can't say that, you'll just have to wait (because I haven't decided yet). Here we are just a few days away from RAP and I haven't decided on a contest prize... what a slacker I am! Anyway, those who choose to participate in the ticket hunt will also have a chance at getting the most out of RAP because there's lots of hidden pages and surprises stashed around. It's all part of the full RAP experience!

Well that's it! 4 years of Bulletins are in the books. I hope you'll check out RAP next week and I'm sincerely hoping that everyone enjoys it and has a some fun. Thanks in advance to everyone who helped with and submitted stuff for RAP, couldn't have done this with out ya. I'll see everybody then!

See ya soon!
