The strategy section - Von Kaiser
Hearts: 20

Von Kaiser - TKO him in 40 sec.!!!

Most important:
Do NOT wait for him to to the first action!!

When Mario starts the fight, keep on holding UP and B to give the German a fast face jab as soon as the fight begins (-full credit for this detail to MadMartin !!). Then wait untill the German Steel Machine shakes his head. Left dodge his following initinal punch and immediately counter with 5 left counter face punches. Do not really stop after these 5 ones but continue to deliver two further left face punches (the second produces a star!!).

Then again wait untill he shakes his head again. Dodge to the left and counter with a fast left face punch to stun him, then deliver the star to knock him down (enjoy his "oink-oink"- face!!). Clock shows 0:21 if you are really fast.

When you have done it right, then Von Kaiser will be back on stage at Mario`s count of 1 (!!!). When he comes back again, then give him a fast left face jab immediately (!!)  to get another star. Then dodge his angry response and deliver star no.2 immediately without stunning him first !!(note that von Kaiser has not really finished his punch you have just dodged). As Kaiser was back at ONE he will get down right away.

To finish him, again give him one fast left face jab when he comes back from the mat (same routine as to get star no.2). Then dodge his angry response and counter as fast as possible with (quick) left face punches untill he gets down for TKO (he gets very little energy back after the 2nd knockdown!).
Can you beat my record time ?

Alternatively you can stun him before you deliver star no. 2 to get another star for your quick face punch when he comes back from the mat for the second time. So you can 100% repeat the second knock-down routine to knock him down for the third and final time. But the standard routine as described above is faster for a second or two!!

You can TKO him under 0:40 !!

Kaiser's Blitzkrieg (PAL)
for 0:35.97 R1 TKO

written by RedTom, full credit to Matt Turk (NTSC)

tested on PAL-MTPO

Phase 1:
Welcome von Kaier with a left face jab, then fast-dodge his poor shaking-head counter attack and give him 5 quick left face jabs. Do not hold on after those 5 jabs but continue with those left face jabs. The 7th face jab (=8th when counting the very first one, too) will produce star #1.
As soon as Mac has the star stop the jabs and wait for Kaiser's shaking-head attack. Quick dodge (left!), stun him with a fast left face jab and deliver the star as soon as possible into the Germans oink-oink stunned face to send him down. Mac has sero stars left.
Clock shows 0:21 on MTPO-PAL when you are fast!

Phase 2:
Kaiser will get up at Mario's count of 1. When the fight resumes, deliver two consecutive left body blows as soon as possible to get two stars out of it. The timing of those body blows is most important. As these are the interception punches that prevent von Kaiser to do an uppercut they have to be landed extremely early when he hardly has started his uppercut move. They really must be performed ultra-fast. The first interception punch always (100%) produces a star, the second one seems to be more random (maybe 25%-30%). Be persistent and you will get the stars #2 and #3 as fast as required.
Immediately after Mac intercepted the second time for (hopefully) star #3 hit START and deliver the star to send von Kaiser down to the mat. Mac has one star left.
The clock shows 0:29 on MTPO-PAL if everything worked perfectly.

Phase 3:
Von Kaiser comes back with only little energy left, so quick dodge his final uppercut and deliver the star ultra-fast right into von Kaiser's dodged uppercut attempt to send him down for the TKO. Clock showed 0:35.97 for me on June 3rd, 2003.

Dedication:
Full credit for the fast Phase 2 strategy goes to Matt Turk, who found this first on NTSC-MTPO. Also to  Matt's  friend Steve Micklus. No one knows him but he has played MTPO back in the day and when Matt showed him his Kaiser 38.97 nsm file he said "Matt I think that can be faster somehow" and that was what gave Matt the idea to look for a faster strategy. Also Martin Charlebois deserves credit for suggesting that the von Kaiser time can be improved.

Kaiser's Casualty
Written and Invented by Matt Turk and Miles Hardinson

Tested on MTPO (NTSC) and NESTICLE emulator
TKO Von Kaiser under 0:37.00 using this strategy

Phase 1- As soon as Mario opens the fight press up + B to deliver a quick face jab to Kaiser. Repeat this procedure a total of 4 more times to land a total of 5 face jabs. Note: Do not hold up during this series of face jabs or Kaiser will duck or block. After the 5th face jab has landed immediately deliver a left body blow which will intercept Kaiser's head shake jab. Now listen closely. Immediately after the left body blow lands tap up for just a second like you were going to do a gutter and then give him 2 more left body blows both of which should connect. The 8th punch (body blow) should will give Mac a star (100%). Now immediately dodge Kaiser's head shake jab and answer with one left face jab followed by a star uppercut in his stunned, shaking head to get the first knockdown at 0:21-0:22 (nsm file shows 0:21). Mac should have 0 stars in reserve to start phase 2.

Phase 2- Kaiser will get up at Mario's count of 1. In order to get a second knockdown quickly you need to use a technique invented by Miles Hardinson. As soon as Mario says fight tap up on the control pad and immeditely deliver two quick left body blows. Note: The timing for this maneuver is hard to get at first. The first punch should connect before Kaiser even starts to duck for his uppercut and the second punch will connect at the earliest possible moment he begins to bend for his second uppercut (see nsm to see how I did it). The first body blow interception will produce a star (100%) but the second is random (25%). You have to get both stars to get this strategy to work. So immeditately after Mac obtains star # 2 press Start to deliver a star uppercut to knock Kaiser down a second time. The clock should read 0:29-0:30. Mach should have 1 star in reserve for phase 3.

Phase 3- Phase 3 is exactly the same as "Kaiser's Blitzkrieg". The clock should read 0:36-0:37 for the final knockdown.

Well you did it. You TKOed the German boxing instructor in under 0:37. I was able to get the NTSC record of 36.48 using this strategy. The time might be able to be improved in terms of decimals. Now only Piston Honda stands in Mac's way of Mac winning the WVBA Minor Circuit Championship.

Dedication- I would like to dedicate this strategy to Above Average since he specialized in Von Kaiser fast times. Also a special thanks to Miles Hardinson for coming up with the gutter routine in phase 2.

I believe this strategy to be of average difficulty. The hardest thing seems to be the timing of the gutter punches in phase 1 and the beginning of phase 2. All I can say is watch the file closely and practice it a little and you should be able to get under 0:37 in no time. Take care guys.

Odd strategy for the dummies:
Punch, dodge and punch again untill you have got some stars. Key to the stars is to be penetrant. Punch untill Von Kaiser can`t block your jabs.
Stun von Kaiser and unload the star to knock him down. Repeat the routine untill he is TKO!!!
