This is Harmony Howlette's debut showtape. The reel is themed around Country and Western music and features all original shows - a departure from previous tapes where many "generic" shows are intermixed with new special guest themed shows. Harmony is featured in 7 of the 12 shows on this tape, and a new birthday show "We Understand It's Your Birthday" first appears on this showtape.

It should be noted that there are a few variations of this tape that exist. Aside from the tape that's actually titled "Harmony Howlette's Wild West Show", there is also a known version simply titled "Harm 1 Xmas USA".

Recycled Announcements - There are two announcements that are recycled throughout this tape. One made by Pasqually (Lights, Camera, Action!) appears prior to Segments 1, 4, 7, and 10. The second one is made by a off-stage announcer (Quiet on the set, Quiet on the set!) appears prior to Segments 2, 5, 8, and 11.

Harmony I Stage - For this show there was a special set of backdrops and props. A special valance was installed above the characters that was filled with mini-lights to represent stars. The backdrop scene was a Western landscape complete with a fence, a large and small cactus, bushes, and a covered wagon.

Showtape Variations - As stated above there were different versions of this tape issued to stores. The "Harm 1 Xmas USA" version is missing the final show on the reel - Segment 12.

Harmony Howlette is one of the best remembered, and arguably the best special guest character that Pizza Time Theatre ever had. This first showtape is actually really good, and her personality really shines in this tape. She manages to withstand Chuck E.'s insults and take in all of the other characters swooning over her - especially Jasper. She howls a lot in this tape - in the same fashion of Madame Oink's oinking and Helen's clucking - except with Harmony it's actually far more adorable than annoying.

The Western theme might come across as a fairly narrow one, and it probably is, yet this showtape was exectued with such fun that it really works well. In all honesty this is one of my favorite tapes from the Pizza Time era. The only bit of dissapointment is that Harmony isn't included in more of the shows. It's no mere coincidence that the shows that don't include Harmony are some of the biggest drags on the tape (like "Bad Boy Billy" in which Munch has the lead and drags on for nearly five and a half minutes).
